Verrucae

A verruca is a viral infection of the skin on the foot, a member of the “wart” family. They appear as lumps on the skin and can be painful if on the ball of the foot or from pressure of a shoe. Verrucae are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus which sits in the superficial layers of the skin,

The body does not always recognise it as a viral infection and therefore they are notoriously difficult to treat. Verruca Needling punctures the verruca multiple times using a sterile needle, pushing the viral particles deeper into the fatty skin layer initiating the bodies own immune response.  Verruca needling is performed under  Local Anasthetic.
