Verrucae

A verruca is a viral infection of the skin on the foot, a member of the “wart” family. They appear as lumps on the skin and can be painful if on the ball of the foot or from pressure of a shoe.

There are different types of verrucae and your Podiatrist will discuss the best treatment options for you depending on your circumstances, (health, availability for appointments etc,).

Graduated from The Chelsea School of Chiropody in 1990, with a distinction in practical chiropody.

NHS posts at the Charing Cross teaching hospital include, Diabetes specialist podiatrist, Setting up GP practice based podiatry clinics and a biomechanics clinic working with the physiotherapy department.

In 1995 moved to Gloucestershire working in the NHS to set up the GP referral service.

Since 1996 in private practice as a general practitioner of Podiatry with a special interest in Diabetes and Musculoskeletal conditions.

1991 worked for Haringey Health Authority, London at both St Ann Hospital out patients Department and within clinics throughout the community.

In 1993 worked for Parkside Health Authority, London at St Mary’s Hospital, and within clinics throughout the community.

1995 Kerry moved with her husband back to the Forest of Dean, and worked as a locum podiatrist for Gloucestershire NHS.

1996 Kerry with her husband Mike created Propulsion Podiatry.

Kerry provides the Home Visit service for clients, where treatment is provided in the comfort of their own home, or residential and nursing care settings, and also works at the clinic.

Due to the increase in diabetes within the population Kerry has special interest in diabetic foot care, and vascular disease.

She has also recently completed training courses in Lacuna Method for the treatment of fungal nails.
